Description

(Lungwort) Pulmonaria 'Raspberry Splash' dazzles with raspberry-pink flower clusters that make a stark contrast to the silvery spotted foliage. The unique foliage provides all season interest and combines wonderfully with other shade loving plants like Athyrium 'Silver Falls'. 'Raspberry Splash' is resistant to both deer and rabbits. This variety has an upright growing habit and is loaded with blooms in the late spring. Removing the spent flowers will promote more new flower growth. The mature plant measures about 12" tall, making it ideal for mass planting or as a border edge. Pulmonaria 'Raspberry Splash' is great as a filler with its spotted foliage in container gardening or patio planters.

Love colors but ....

I love the plant colors on leaves and flowers. However the leaves have microscopic needles that hurt and can’t see them so BEWARE!! Definitely wear gloves while working with them. Also they start new plants almost every year so have to be diligent in pulling ones you don’t want or they’ll take over.

Attractive

This plant is very attractive and eye-catching in the shade garden, even when it's not in bloom. I planted these two years ago and was rewarded with loads of beautiful flowers this spring, just in time for the early arriving hummingbirds!

WOW Factor

This plant has that special WOW factor. It brightens up the front of my shade garden and is the most beautiful early bloomer I have. It's definitely a favorite. It arrived happy and healthy and thrived even though I had to hold off planting it for a while. I just kept it relatively moist its first season and the next spring was rewarded with a beautiful show. It has multiplied and I'll be moving its little volunteers to add more spots of beauty this year. This is a great choice for your moist shade garden.
