Description

(Clematis) Ring in season long color to your garden with Clematis ‘Roguchi’. A member of the Japanese clematis family, ‘Roguchi’ features unusual 2-3 inch bell-shaped flowers that hang off the vine. Featuring intense, deep blue/purple flowers with lighter blue curved petals. Blooming from June through September, ‘Roguchi’ is one of the longest blooming clematis we carry. This lax clinger can reach heights of 6-9 feet tall, and has a slight fragrance. Free flowering and hardy in zones 4-8, ‘Roguchi’ attracts butterflies and hummingbirds to its bell-shaped blooms. It likes to be grown in full sun to part shade. Its flowers thrive under the sun, but its roots prefer to be shaded. Try putting mulch around its roots, or planting ground cover or other perennials to keep the roots shaded. A perfect selection for container gardens, adding vertical height to landscapes, foundations, or perennial gardens. ‘Roguchi’ is a part of prune Group 3. In the early spring you will want to prune the main stems down to 3 feet above the ground, and remove any dead or weak stems. This ensures your clematis will thrive in the season ahead. Please note: flower color may vary due to the environment in which it is grown.

Plant arrived very healthy and has been planted on a large trellis alongside a climbing rose. Excited to watch it grow.

I am so thrilled with the quality of the plant I received. It arrived in good condition, but I almost immediately broke it off at the ground. I kept my fingers crossed, kept watering the roots in the drought and within I week or two it popped out and thrived. Has grown very quickly!

She arrived in great shape and I hesitated in placement for almost 2 weeks. Once in the ground she has taken off like crazy! Just got the first bloom and it’s beautiful!!

At my former house we had a roguchi growing into a limelight hydrangea and I loved them together. We moved to a new house, so I bought a roguchi from Garden Crossings last fall to twine through a vanilla strawberry hydrangea. Less than a year old and the roguchi is growing fast, very healthy. Can’t wait to see it bloom!
