Description
(Russian Sage) One of the darkest purples sages to date is Perovskia atriplicifolia 'Sage Advice'. Standing 32-36 inches tall and spreading 32 inches wide, 'Sage Advice' forms an upright mounded habit. The silver-green foliage has strong upright stems and slightly broader leaves than other russian sage. Hardy in zones 4-9, 'Sage Advice' Russian Sage likes to be planted in full sun locations and is drought tolerant. Blooming midsummer, the deep lavender-purple blooms last for weeks followed by the extended color of the deep purple calyxes. This deer-resistant perennial has fragrant flowers and foliage and makes for a great cut or dried flower. Plant in mass, as a border, or as a single specimen for summer enjoyment.
