Description

(Lenten Rose) One of the most flower filled helleborus I have ever seen is ‘Snowbells’ Christmas Rose. Hardy in zones 4-9, this early spring bloomer adds a flurry of blooms to the garden. The semi-double, crisp white blooms measure 2.5-3 inches across and are outward-facing. Helleborus niger blooms up to 4 weeks earlier in the season than other helleborus. Depending on where you live you could see blooms as early as Christmas. ‘Snowbells’ Christmas Rose stands 10-12 inches tall and spreads up to 12-14 inches wide. Planted in full sun to part shade locations, they prefer average to fertile soil with average to low needs once established. This deer and rabbit resistant perennial is a great addition to woodland shade gardens as well as in container designs. This drought-tolerant, easy to grow perennial can often be found as a border plant or planted in mass for a spectacular display of early color. Enjoy up to 6 weeks of blooms with Helleborus ‘Snowbells’.

I was happy to receive my hellebores. They were well packed. Got them planted, however, this one died. We had weeks of continuous rain and heat, not sure if that’s the reason.

It was beautiful all Christmas. Now it looks like it is dying. I don’t know if it got too much water or what happened. Hope it will start getting new growth
