- Excellent Cut Flower,
- Very Long Blooming,
- Tall Habit
Description
(Peruvian Lily) Making a bold, red statement in the garden is Alstroemeria Summer Heat. Featuring bright, fire-engine red flowers with speckled yellow centers, this plant resembles the flames of a summer campfire. This perennial blooms in mid to late summer and lasts until fall. Hardy in zones 6-9, it can grow to a max height of 3-3.5 feet and a max width of 2.5-3 feet. Peruvian Lilies are not only enjoyed in the gardens, they're also known for being a great cut flower that can be brought inside for vases and arrangements. Their flowers and stems can last an impressive amount of time after being cut from the plant. The flowers stand atop sturdy green stems with narrow leaves that add a great foliage accent. Alstroemeria Summer Heat grows best in full sun to part shade locations with moist soil. We recommend watering regularly and feeding them in the spring. You'll probably get a few butterflies and bees visiting this plant as well! Alstroemeria Summer Heat is a Proven Winners® Perennial.
