Description

(Rose Mallow) Large flowers give a large impact in the garden. Summerific® 'Valentine's Crush' features bright cherry red flowers with large, ruffled overlapping petals. Replacing 'Cranberry Crush', 'Valentine's Crush' features a brighter red flower with a deep purple eye, each flower reaching 7-8 inches across. The flowers open flat for even more impact. The deep green foliage has a bronze appearance in the full sun. Standing 5 feet tall and 3.5 feet wide, Summerific® 'Valentine's Crush' forms an upright vase-like habit. Hardy in zone 4-9, Summerific® 'Valentine's Crush' likes to be grown in full sun to part shade locations with average water needs. Rose mallow is one of the later perennials to emerge in late spring, but once it does, it fills out quickly and starts to bloom mid to late summer. This native, deer-resistant perennial makes a great specimen, plant in mass for even more of a color display. If you have a low-lying area in your garden that tends to stay damper, Summerific® 'Valentine's Crush' Hibiscus would be a good selection. Hibiscus Summerific® 'Valentine's Crush' is a Proven Winners® Perennial.
