SunMagic® Vintage Pink Coneflower (Echinacea)
- Large Flowers,
- Excellent Brancing,
- Compact Habit
Description
(Coneflower) Loads of rosy pink flowers cover Echinacea SUNMAGIC® Vintage Pink during its long summer bloom season. Broad pink petals extend from raised central cones, creating large flowers above the green foliage. Strong stems keep the blooms upright and easy to enjoy. Flowering begins around mid-June and continues into fall.
Excellent branching helps this perennial produce an impressive number of buds and flowers. Echinacea SUNMAGIC® Vintage Pink grows 18-24 inches tall and spreads 18-24 inches wide. Its compact, mounding habit stays full throughout the growing season. Give it full sun and soil with good drainage for the best performance.
Hardy in zones 4-9, this Echinacea handles cold winters and warm summers. Coneflowers are native to North America and work well in gardens that support local wildlife. Deer generally avoid the plants, making them useful where browsing pressure causes problems.
The abundant pink flowers provide nectar for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies from summer into fall. Strong flower stems also make this coneflower a good choice for fresh-cut arrangements. Cut several blooms to enjoy indoors while leaving others for visiting pollinators. Regular harvesting or removing older blooms also keeps the flowers looking fresh as new buds continue opening.
