Description

(Petunia) One of the most unique bi-colored petunias we have seen, SUPERTUNIA® Persimmon is an exciting addition to the SUPERTUNIA® family. The blooms feature shades of coral orange that fade to a bright yellow eye. The large petunia blooms require no deadheading to continue to bloom, this is not your grandmother's petunia. SUPERTUNIA® Persimmon grows around 12 inches tall and spreads up to 24 inches wide. A great petunia selection for ground plantings as well as in mixed container combinations. Planted in full sun to part sun locations, SUPERTUNIA® Persimmon is ready to shine in your landscape. SUPERTUNIAS® attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, and pollinators to the garden. We recommend a continuous-release fertilizer when they are planted and water-soluble fertilizer once a week. Feed Them, They'll Look Fabulous! SUPERTUNIA® Persimmon may benefit from an occasional haircut. We recommend trimming one-third of the plant as needed to promote additional branching resulting in more flowers.

A truly unique coloration of blooms with the coral-orange flowers with the yellow throat. SUPERTUNIA® Persimmon grew very well in the landscape as well as in my garden trials. The nice thing with all Supertunias, is they do not need to be deadheaded to keep blooming. These are not your grandmas petunias!

Persimmon Petunias

So I originally planted these under a bird feeder. They were getting trampled or eaten. So I transplanted them to a different area where 4 out of 5 were blooming. Barely.
Then in the past 9 days we’ve had 9” of rain. On day 10, they are blooming in full force. They are one are happy in this swampy mess.
Highly recommend these. Zone 7 southern Indiana.

Better than I expected

I ordered this mostly to have something I thought would go with Peachy Keen Verbena. It's not the best match, but I don't mind, I like the Persimmon just for itself alone. So far this has formed a tidy mound about a foot across and a bit less high, and it is covered all the time with these pretty coral flowers. The throat of my plant's flowers is more a cream than a yellow, especially as it's gotten warmer, but I'm ok with that. I found an Astromeria that has peach and gold tones, and it goes well with this petunia. Now if I could just find something that goes with the Peachy Keen Verbena...
