Description

(Clematis) Clematis 'Princess Diana' is a small flowering variety that produces a plethora of 2 inch tulip-shaped blooms. The unique tulip-shaped flowers each have four petals with lighter pink margins and bright yellow stamens. Blooming July through October, this late season bloomer is meant for royalty. The attractive seed heads of 'Princess Diana' are an added bonus in late fall. This compact stunner will grow 4-6 feet tall. A great addition to an arbor, trellis, or container garden. Part of prune group 3, we recommend trimming clematis 'Princess Diana' in late fall or early spring. Flower color may vary due to environment.

Princess Diana arrived well packaged with no damage. Because I have such a problem with wilt I decided to repot PD in a larger pot and let her grow this year to get well established. And it is really growing. It is a Group 3 for pruning, so I will cut it back to about four inches this winter and plant it next year. I am thinking of planting it in a ring so it will be elevated about three inches and maybe I can avoid wilt.

I love this clematis. It starts its blooming when many other varieties have faded. I've planted it on a small trellis which encircles my mailbox, where the smaller blooms can be seen up close. I receive so many compliments on it and it has been very easy to care for.
