Westcountry™ 'Manhattan Lights' Lupine (Lupinus)
- Clear Color,
- Strong Stems,
- Early Summer Bloomer
Description
(WESTCOUNTRY™ Lupines) Lupines have long been a customer favorite at Garden Crossings, and WESTCOUNTRY™ 'Manhattan Lights' stands out for its rich bicolor flower spikes. Sturdy, upright stems reach 24-36 inches tall and bloom late May early June, carrying burgundy-purple and yellow blooms above bright green, palmate foliage. The strong vertical form brings bold color to mixed perennial beds and borders.
Plant WESTCOUNTRY™ 'Manhattan Lights' in full sun to part shade in well-drained, slightly acidic soil. In warmer areas, light afternoon shade can help plants through summer heat. Keep soil evenly moist while plants establish, avoid waterlogged conditions, and deadhead spent flower spikes to encourage additional bloom and a tidier appearance.
Butterflies and hummingbirds are drawn to the blooms, making 'Manhattan Lights' a natural fit for pollinator-friendly plantings. For garden planning, use it as a colorful specimen or group several plants together for a stronger seasonal display.

Arrived healthy
Arrived in perfect condition. They are very healthy, and tropical looking. No flowers yet, and it's July so maybe I'll have to wait till next spring. They will really give the Butterfly Garden a unique glow. The heavy duty white shipping containers do an excellent job of keeping the plants in good condition. The bottom of the carton even lets the FedEx driver know that the box is upside down and he/she has to turn it over. The quart containers are securely wrapped in paper to keep them protected.
